Yes, that would be me... I apologize for being away for so long. Trust me, I have been a busy little bee flying around--working on my house, planning details for the wedding {meeting with florists, picking our save-the-dates}, and partaking in all the festivities from my BFF's wedding last weekend in Knoxville. But I promise to get back in the swing of things and devote more attention here:

A few weeks ago, I did finish another friend's order for her wedding calligraphy, Brittany. She is marrying her love Michael the last weekend in September here in Nashville and she called on me for help in addressing her envelopes, to which of course I shouted YES!

Here is a sample of her finished envelopes {the Miller style}, with the finished details...

Congratulations Brittany and Michael... I know your wedding is going to be FABULOUS!

And in other news, I let myself buy a book online--thank you Amazon--that will help me learn the fine art of mastering Copperplate Calligraphy... this is the epitomy of the classic couture style of writing, and I am determined to teach myself each and every stroke. Granted, this will take a lot of time, but I am excited to get started so that I can hopefully use this style to hand address our envelopes that will go out to our guests next spring... fingers crossed this works, but I have heard incredible things about this book and how it's the "end all" so we will see =)

A Little Time Sensitive

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by Tiffani, the owner and wedding planner extraordinaire of Creative Designs and Events here in Nashville...for a little background, the story goes like this:

Tiffani was helping her client, Belinda, plan her dream wedding to be held on September 11th in Bowling Green, Kentucky.. as all of the last minute details are falling into place and she is working with a calligrapher to get her invitations hand addressed and mailed to her guests, all of a sudden, the said calligrapher stops responding to calls and emails=BIG problem!

Tiffani then emailed me frantically asking if I could turn around a rush order of 100 invitations in less than a week--luckily, I was in town that weekend, and was able to make it happen =)

I think Belinda was extremely pleased with the end product and I was so happy to ease her frustrations so she could focus on more important things for her upcoming wedding--good luck and congrats Belinda!

I was recently contacted by an avid reader asking if I planned to subject my blog to a post related to an "End of the Summer Soiree/Labor Day Party". My Best Friend's Invitations

Oh that makes me excited to say--just a mere 51 days until my best friend will tie the knot to her fantastic beau Aaron. I've been waiting to show these pictures off for quite some time--her invitations {by William Arthur} were selected with the help of the ladies at Nashville's own You're Invited boutique and I think they turned out lovely.. Meg wanted traditional with a splash of one of her wedding colors--slate gray--and she wanted uber:thick cardstock. Her invite is proudly displayed on my refrigerator {with all the other showers and invites} and I think Meg was really happy about the way the calligraphy turned out... very formal with a touch of modern, which definitely made her envelopes stand out in the mailbox =)

I cannot even begin to tell you how jealous I am right now that the NSS 2010 show is going on in New York City and I am not fortunate enough to be there... aisles and rows and booths galore of stationery and invitations?? Oh my heart just skips a beat just thinking of all the creative juices flowing!

Every leading company and wanna-bes alike are all crammed into one building so that everyone can show off their new prized paper ensembles and lines--for a girl planning her wedding, this trip would be ideal--oh swoon! Guess I will just have to wait for everyone to get back and recap to see what's in store!

Her and I have been friends for years now and though she has been engaged for 18 months, she is FINALLY tying-the-knot on June 12th at historic Cedarwood Plantation here in Nashville... such a gorgeous venue for a remarkable young woman.

She is a wonderful friend and someone I am relying heavily on for my wedding next year--we have had countless conversations about wedding details and I know her special day is going to be incredible no doubt. I was honored that she asked me to do her calligraphy for her and I think both she {and her fiance} were really excited with how they turned out!

Recently, my refrigerator has turned into a gallery of bridal shower invitations... Here they are: the fonts! I am so excited to show these off--as I have been working adamantly to get these styles finalized. Thanks to my wonderful friend Candice...who is an up-and-coming photographer... I was able to get these samples finished quickly and ready for all to see.

After completing my first few orders, I realized there are certain styles that really stand out and ones that are the most popular... as I wanted to break away from the pack of traditional calligraphers and creative some fun and unique styles, I have created five font choices to select from {working on more for future release, too}. However, I am happy to discuss customized fonts, depending on your wedding/event's "theme", etc.
